🔼 Runnin’ Wild. Both WSU cross country squads entered the 2026 season with national rankings next to their name and on Friday, the Cougs lived up to the billing at the annual Cougar Classic.
In the first race of the season, Evans Kurui picked up where he left off last year, winning the men's 8-kilometer race. Kurui set a course for the second-straight year with a race time of 22:36.8.
In the women’s 5-kilometer race, Millie Bii took first place running a 16:20.8 in her freshman debut.
The men took four of the top-five spots in the race, while the women took three of the top-five to sweep the team standings on both sides.

🔼 Sunday Standouts. The 2026 NFL season is underway and once again the Cougs pathline to the pros is on display throughout the league.
Some of the WSU alums who stood out were Jalen Thompson, who racked up nine tackles in his debut with the Cowboys against the New York Giants on Sunday Night Football. He is now in his eighth season in the league.
Daiyan Henley finished with eight tackles and a half-sack for the Chargers against Arizona, while Frankie Luvu recorded four tackles and a sack for Washington before leaving the game early with an injury.
🔼 All Tied Up. Playing against one of the better teams in the region, the WSU soccer squad put on a quality display on Sunday, earning a road point with a 1-1 tie at Cal State Fullerton.
After going down early, WSU senior Reagan Brisendine equalized with her first Cougar goal in the 27th minute. Redshirt-senior goalkeeper Ashlyn Dvorak made a WSU career-high nine saves, including a penalty save in the 51st minute, to secure the road result.
The Cougs have a quick turnaround, traveling home to host Seattle U on Wednesday evening at 6 p.m.

🔼 Court Is In Session. The WSU tennis squad hit the courts for the first time in 2026-27 this past weekend at the Cougar Classic at Hollingbery Fieldhouse.
The Cougs had a successful weekend piling up 11 singles victories over the three days, while also going a perfect 4-0 in doubles action.
