🔼 From Our Leader. With classes getting underway in Pullman, Director of Athletics Jon Haarlow sat down to pen a letter to Cougar Nation as we head into another exciting year of Wazzu Athletics.
Through this newsletter, he''ll share exciting updates from Cougar Athletics to help keep Cougs informed, engaged, and connected to everything happening across Washington State Athletics.

That’s right, we are now just 1️⃣1️⃣ days away from the kickoff of the 2026 football season for the Cougs.
These are the moments that you just love to see. We can’t wait to see Wazzu back on the field this fall!
Throughout the summer, we will be counting down the days
to the return of Wazzu Football this fall. The Cougs will take on Washington
in the Apple Cup on Sept. 6 in Seattle.
Cougar Nation, game day is coming to Marco Polo.

🔼 Home Sweet Home. After a week in the Dakotas, the WSU women’s soccer team returns to Pullman to host UC Irvine tomorrow night at the Lower Soccer Field. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m.
Last time at home, the Cougs rolled to a dominant 4-1 win over South Florida.
Fans are encouraged to come out for ‘Fill the Hill’ and snag a limited edition Cougar soccer scarf.
🔼 Making An Impact. With the season opener just days away for the WSU Volleyball squad, a trio of Cougs were recognized with spots on the Pac-12 Preseason Impact List.
Kambree Rodriguez, Eliana Ti’a and Kryssa Moerman all earned accolades heading into the 2026 season as the Cougs to watch.
WSU is set to open up the year this weekend at the Cougar Invitational. First serve against Omaha on Friday night is set for 6 p.m.
🔼 O Captain, My Captain. When the WSU Football team takes the field on Sunday, September 6th for its season opener, the Cougs will do so led by six captains for the upcoming season.
This week, head coach Kirby Moore announced its team captains for the 2026 season. Keith Brown, Ashton Tripp, Kaden Beatty, Linus Zunk, Tony Freeman and Jack Pedersen will all wear the “C” on their chests this fall for the Cougs.
