🔼 Feelin’ Grand. Two seasons into his MLB career, former Coug Kyle Manzardo can now add a grand slam to his big league resume.

In the top of the first inning on Tuesday, Manzardo launched a two-out grand slam deep into right field to give Cleveland an early 4-0 cushion en route to a 6-5 victory in game one of the in-state doubleheader.

The former Coug now has 12 HRs this season for the Guardians. He is now just seven HRs away from becoming just the seventh WSU alum ever to reach 50+ career HRs in the big leagues.

🔼 Countin’ Down. Tick tock, tick tock, we’re getting closer and closer.

That’s right, we are now 3️⃣9️⃣ days away from the kickoff of the 2026 football season for the Cougs.

With his teammate Luke Falk injured, Tyler Hilinski stepped into the starting role for the Cougs in the 2017 Holiday Bowl tossed for a single-game record 3️⃣9️⃣ completions against Michigan State.

Hilinski finished the day 3️⃣9️⃣-of-50 for 272 yards and two TDs.

Throughout the summer, we will be counting down the days
to the return of Wazzu Football this fall. The Cougs will take on Washington
in the Apple Cup on Sept. 6 in Seattle.

🔼 One Big Family. WSU standout freshman Kaitlyn Helm knew she would be a starter on the first tournament, yet, she still remembers being nervous on the day of her first tournament. She placed 53rd, posting a 14-over par score.

After calming down the first tournament jitters, she surprised herself by holding first place in the next tournament after two days. On the final day, Helm remembers feeling the weight of the moment.

Helm has started in every tournament this season for the Cougars. She finished the season with a 73.88 stroke average, the best on the team. Through the pressure of being counted on as one of the best performers, Helm has found solace in leaning on her surroundings throughout her freshman year.
