🔼 All-American Cougs. Two races down, two All-America status earned.

On Wednesday night, Evans Kurui kicked things off for the WSU track squad in a big way at the 2026 NCAA Outdoor Championships.

Kurui blistered the track in the 10000m for a sixth-place finish, good for first-team All-American honors for the second consecutive season. He becomes the first Cougar to earn back-to-back first-team honors since Jeshua Anderson repeated as the four-time 400-meter hurdles NCAA champion from 2008 to 2011.

On Thursday, Caroline Jepkorir earned a top-20 finish in the 3000m steeplechase to earn Honorable Mention All-American accolades, marking the first Cougar women’s runner to earn national outdoor honors in the event.

Teammate Rosemary Longisa continued her outstanding season by punching her ticket to Saturday’s final in the 1500m, clocking the fastest time in the event and will chase a national title tomorrow night in Eugene.

Alvarez Sande capped her WSU Cougar career with the first ITA Regional award of her career, finishing the season with a 20-6 singles record, including a 15-1 mark in dual matches and 5-0 in West Coast Conference Play. 🔼 Countin’ Down. Tick tock, tick tock, we’re getting closer and closer.

That’s right, we are just 86 days away from the kickoff of the 2026 football season for the Cougs.

Wearing #8️⃣6️⃣ this fall will be an critical piece of the WSU tight end room in redshirt sophomore Beau Baker, who joined the Cougs during the spring of 2025.

Last season, Baker appeared in all 13 games, mostly on special teams, but did haul in his first collegiate TD in the Apple Cup game on September 20th against the Huskies.

Throughout the summer, we will be counting down the days
to the return of Wazzu Football this fall. The Cougs will take on Washington
in the Apple Cup on Sept. 6 in Seattle.
