🔼 Leading The Pack. This week, Wazzu Swimming Head Coach Russell Whitaker was named the 2026 Mountain West Conference Coach of the Year.

Whitaker guided the Cougars to their best season in program history in just his second year as head coach, becoming the first Cougar swimming coach to earn conference coach of the year honors.

This past season, Washington State finished second at the Mountain West Conference Championships, posted its second straight undefeated season after going 7-0 in dual meets and produced 12 all-conference selections, four all-conference relay teams, and two All-Americans for the first time in program history.
