Max Hartman homered, doubled twice, drove in three runs and scored four times as WSU rolled past Portland for a 9-3 victory on Monday afternoon.
Cougar starter Brock Blatter fired four scoreless frames and was backed by the offense who put up four in the first inning and scored in each of the first four innings. Dane Chavez had two hits and scored twice, Mason Pirello doubled twice and drove in two runs while Ryan Skjonsby added two hits with a double and RBI.

🔼 Welcome To The Fam. The newest member of the WSU men’s hoops family was announced this week with Division II standout Lazerek Houston set to arrive in Pullman for the 2026-27 season.
Houston, a 6-foot, 155-pound freshman guard from Lincoln, Nebraska, starred at Central Missouri in his first collegiate season.
Last season, Houston started 33 of 34 games, averaging 33 minutes, 20.8 points, 5.1 assists, 4.1 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game. He shot 46.2% from the field and 36.8% from 3-point range.

🔼 Richie Rich. Coming off a dominant week out of the WSU bullpen, WSU righthander August Richie earned the Mountain West Conference Pitcher of the Week honor.
Richie made three appearances last week and notched two saves with 5.2 innings, no runs allowed, just two hits and two strikeouts.
