🔼 Connect Four. There’s just no place like home.

The WSU Baseball squad defended its home turf over the weekend with a hard-fought sweep of visiting Gardner-Webb with victories of 3-2, 7-4 and 5-3 to extend its win streak to four consecutive games.

The Cougs are now 8-3 on the season at Bailey-Brayton Field and look to continue that success today with Portland coming to town for Monday afternoon showdown at 12:05 pm.

🔼 Weekend Work. While most of us used the weekend to try and rest and reset for the upcoming week, the WSU Football team did the opposite, grinding away for their eighth spring practice of the Kirby Moore Era.

Practicing on Gesa Field for the first time this spring, the Cougs went through some live tackling as well as thud scrimmage sessions. Both sides of the ball had highlights with the offense connecting on a pair of touchdown passes when Owen Eshelman found Tank Hawkins for a score, while Julian Dugger ended the day by hitting Jack Pedersen in the corner of the end zone for another touchdown.

🔼 Senior Salutin’. No better way to send off your seniors than with a weekend sweep, right?

That’s exactly what the WSU tennis squad did over the weekend picking up a pair of dominant wins over Seattle (4-0) and Portland (4-0).

The Cougs have now won seven straight as they head on the road for the final week of the regular season.

🔼 Tip Of The Cap. The WSU tennis squad wasn’t the only one honoring their seniors as the rowing program recognized their 10 seniors before hitting the water this past weekend at the Fawley Cup.

🤔 COUGAR TRIVIA

All season long, the duo of Ryan Skjonsby and Gavin Roy have been bringing home runs, combining for 50 RBIs entering today’s matchup.

Not only have they been bringing Cougs home, but they’ve been doing it in clutch moments. How many of those 50 RBIs have come in the 7th inning or later?

Got a guess?
