🔼 Three Of A Kind. Even before heading to Vegas for the WCC Tournament, a trio of Cougar Hoops standouts have already collected hardware.
This week, Ace Glass, ND Okafor and Eleonora Villa were all recognized with postseason accolades from the WCC.
Glass was named to the All-WCC Freshman Team and the All-WCC Second Team, while Okafor picked up All-WCC Honorable Mention. For Villa, it marks her second straight All-WCC Second Team nod, after earning Pac-12 All-Freshman Team honors following the 2023-24 season.
Calling all Cougs: You could earn $150 when you join BECU. Offer ends April 30.
🔼 Three’s Company. All good things come in threes, right?
A trio of Coug track & field standouts highlighted Wazzu’s trip to the MPSF Championships with individual victories.
Zenah Cheptoo (women’s mile), Rosemary Longisa (women’s 800m) and Solomon Kipchoge (men’s 3000m) all claimed the top spots in their events for the Cougs.
Overall, the men finished in fourth with 72 points on the weekend, while the women finished in fifth in a very competitive field and 61 points on the weekend.
🔼 Going Global. Last June, Will Cresswell became the first Wazzu catcher drafted since 2015.
Now, he’s adding another line to his baseball resume as he’s set to play in the 2026 World Baseball Classic with Great Britain this weekend.
The former Coug was taken in the 18th round of last June’s MLB Amateur Draft by the Toronto Blue Jays after appearing in 132 games in his four-year career at WSU. He piled up 10 doubles, 11 home runs and 66 RBIs with the Cougs.
Today, Great Britain plays its final exhibition game against the San Diego Padres in Peoria, Ariz. before heading to Houston to play in the first round of the WBC.
Save on your phone plan while also supporting Wazzu. Cougs Mobile runs on the T-Mobile 5G network with plans starting at $20/month. Get exclusive gameday perks and support Washington State University with every monthly payment.
🏆 TOURNEY TIME
With the regular season all wrapped up, it’s Tourney Time for Cougar Hoops.
This week, both Wazzu squads head to Vegas to take on the WCC Tournament gauntlet.
The WSU women’s squad will open up the action on Thursday as the ninth-seed. They will take on #12 Seattle in the opening round for the right to play Pacific in Friday’s second round action. Tip time is set for 12 pm PT.
In the men’s bracket, the Cougs earned a first-round bye and will await the winner of ninth-seeded Portland and 12th-seeded Pacific. They will face that winner on Friday at 6 pm PT.
🤔 COUGAR TRIVIA

As we mentioned Will Cresswell is the first Cougar catcher to be drafted into the MLB since 2015.
