🔼 Super Sunday Cougs. Two former WSU standouts are looking to join an exclusive club as Kyle Williams (Patriots) and Abraham Lucas (Seahawks) are set to square off in Super Bowl LX this Sunday in Santa Clara, Calif.
One of the duo will become the 10th WSU alum to hoist the Lombardi trophy with a victory on Sunday.
It also marks the fourth year in a row that a Coug will be in the Super Bowl, with Jaylen Watson representing the Chiefs for the last three and Jaden Hicks doing so as well last year. In 2022, the Eagles featured both Gardner Minshew and Andre Dillard.
🔼 Road To Victory. A total team effort led the WSU women’s hoops team to a hard-fought 80-76 victory in a back-and-forth battle in San Diego on Thursday night.
In a game that featured 14 lead changes, the Cougs knocked down eight 3-pointers on the night and had four different players in double-figures to lead the offensive attack.
Freshman Malia Ruud led the way with 19 points on 6-of-8 shooting, while Charlotte Abraham and Mackenzie Chatfield each added 16.
Eleonora Villa finished with 15 points and five assists, and the Cougars totaled 19 assists on 27 made field goals.
🔼 Super Soph. After setting a school and meet record last Saturday, Washington State sophomore Rosemary Longisa was named the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Women's Indoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week.
Longisa, a sophomore from Eldorat, Kenya, set multiple records Saturday during the UW Invitational/Mile City meet in Seattle, Wash. In the Women's Mile Invitational race, Longisa crossed in 4-minutes, 24.59 seconds, the third-fast time ever run by a collegian. It also shattered her previous school record by nearly 16 seconds, set last season, and broke the event record by three seconds.
🔼 New Additions. The Coug family is growing!
Coach Moore announced Wednesday the signing of Oliver Bender and Lance McGee to the WSU football program. Both student-athletes plan to enroll prior to the start of the 2026 season.
Bender is a wide receiver out of Nolensville High School in Nolensville, Tenn., while McGee, is a linebacker/running back from Yakima, Wash.
