🔼 A New Era Is Here. A native son of Washington is coming back to his home state.

Growing up about 150 miles away, Kirby Moore knows all about the Cougar football program. Now, he’ll be leading the way for Wazzu.

On Friday, WSU Interim Director of Athletics Jon Haarlow announced that Moore as the new Cougars’ Head Football Coach. He agreed in principle to a five-year contract and becomes the 36th head football coach in program history.

Moore has strong ties to eastern Washington, having grown up in Prosser, Wash., where his father, Tom, was a legendary football coach at Prosser High School. He has spent the past three seasons serving as the offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach at the University of Missouri for Head Coach Eli Drinkwitz.

A formal press conference introducing Moore will be held tomorrow, Dec. 16 at 1 pm PT.

Cougs Fans, we’re excited to share an exclusive offer for the WSU community.

This season is all about gratitude and supporting Coug Country in meaningful ways. For a limited time, Cougs Mobile is offering 20% off all Fan and Alumni Plans for the first year.

🔼 Welcome To The Fam. Coach Moore isn’t the only new leader for the Cougs as Chris Citowicki was tabbed to take over the reins of the WSU Soccer program, also on Friday.

Citowicki becomes the eighth head coach in program history after spending the last eight seasons as the head coach at Montana. In 2025, the Griz swept the Big Sky Conference regular season and tournament championships, advancing to the NCAA Tournament for the fourth time under Citowicki.

"I have been a fan of the Washington State program for a long time," said Citowicki. "To have the opportunity to step into that setting and represent WSU and Coug nation is a huge honor. The family and I cannot wait to move to Pullman and get started!"

Citowicki arrived in Montana in May 2018 and led the Griz to nine Big Sky Championships, including three-consecutive regular-season titles and capped with the 2025 Big Sky Tournament Championship. The 2023 Big Sky Coach of the Year, Citowicki finished at Montana with a 79-39-32 record and four NCAA postseason appearances.

🔼 See Ya Next Year! A small group of Cougs traveled to Spokane over the weekend to wrap up the 2025 portion of the WSU Track & Field scheduled at the Spokane Invitational.

Highlighting the weekend was Lindsay Siebert, who took home the top spot in the 800-meter race, with a personal best of 2:19.45.
