Cross Country Sweeps First-Ever Conference Championships

The Official Newsletter for Washington State Athletics
Good Morning, Wazzu Fam. Hopefully the cross country squads left room in their luggage to bring home some hardware!
That’s right, not just one conference title, but TWO heading back to Pullman!
What all do we have in today’s Brew? Check it out below.

🔼 Twice As Nice. It was a historic weekend for the WSU cross country programs.
For the first time in program history, the men and women swept conference championships, rolling to the West Coast Conference titles behind individual titles from Solomon Kipchoge and Rosemary Longisa.
With the team victory this morning, the women earned the first cross country conference championship in program history. The men's team earned their first conference championship in 50 years, dating back to their fourth conference title in 1975.
🔼 Sunday Funday. It’s not how you start, it’s how you finish.
That was the motto for the WSU volleyball squad who rallied after a slow first set to defeat Oregon State, 3-1 (17-25, 25-23, 27-25, 25-14) on Sunday.
WSU finished with 14 service aces—doubling Oregon State—and matched the Beavers' dig total despite OSU's early offensive surge.
Once again, Lucie Blažková led the way with 15 kills, while also adding three blocks and two aces in the victory.

🔼 They’re Backkkkk. The wait is FINALLY over. Cougar Hoops are officially BACK!
The 2025-26 WSU basketball seasons tip-off in just a few hours as the women’s squad is set to host Idaho at Beasley Coliseum for an 11 a.m. morning showdown, while the men’s teams will square off later tonight for a 6:30 p.m. tilt.
Both contests can be seen on ESPN+.

🔼 Three Of A Kind. In Sunday’s road win at Tennessee, former WSU standout Daiyan Henley had a huge sack in the second quarter to help the Chargers roll on to a 27-20 victory over the Titans.
He finished with nine tackles, the sack and a pass deflection.
His three sacks this season is a single-season career high for the young pro.
