🔼 Country’s Finest. Solomon Kipchoge finishes third and wins All-American honors in the men's 10k National Championship, with Evans Kurui also winning this honor, finishing in the top-20.
Rosemary Longisa was the top finisher for the women, also winning All-American honors, finishing in 27th.
The men finished in 17th overall as a team, while the women finished in 27th. Both teams put up good fights against the finest teams in the entire country.
🔼 The Island Life. Today, the Washington State men’s hoops squad will test to see if momentum travels to the islands.
The Cougs open up the program’s first-ever trip to the Maui Invitational today with a 6 p.m. PT tip-off against Chaminade in the opening round of the event, which runs through Wednesday.
Although it is the first Maui Invitational for Washington State, this trip marks Hawaiian tournament for WSU, dating back to the 1973 Rainbow Classic under Coach George Raveling.
The Cougs enter this week with momentum coming off a dominant win last week over Southern Utah.
🔼 Sunday Showouts. For the second time in his seven-year NFL career, Jalen Thompson got in the sack column on Sunday.
The veteran safety had one of his best games of the season in a tough overtime loss to Jacksonville, racking up nine tackles, a sack and a pass deflection for the Cardinals.
Jaylen Watson and Jaden Hicks both had three tackles and a pass deflection in the Chiefs win over Indianapolis, while Kyle Williams hauled in one catch for 18 yards as the Patriots became the league’s first 10-win team.
Tonight, Chau Smith-Wade and the Panthers are featured on Monday Night Football, taking on the San Francisco 49ers.
