🔼 Department Of Defense. The WSU football squad delivered another dominant defensive performance and used a season-best effort on the ground to power past Louisiana Tech, 28-3, Saturday night at Gesa Field.

With the win, the Cougars improved to 5-5 while extending a remarkable defensive trend: this marks their fifth game this season holding an opponent to 10 points or fewer, including three games where the opponent failed to reach double digits.

WSU’s defensive unit controlled the game from the opening snap, limiting Louisiana Tech to a season-low 167 yards of total offense on 51 plays. The Cougars produced three sacks, an interception, and held the Bulldogs to just 3-of-11 on third down. Colby Humphrey's fourth-quarter interception halted a promising Louisiana Tech drive, while Malaki Ta'ase and Buddha Peleti combined for 2.5 sacks to anchor a front that pressured the Bulldogs all night long.

🔼 Tickets Punched. The Washington State men's and women's cross country teams qualified with at-large bids for the 2025 NCAA National Championships, the NCAA announced Saturday afternoon. This season marks the first time the Cougar men will compete as a team at the national championships since 2016. The WSU women qualify as a team for only the third time in program history and the first time since 1985.

Rosemary Longisa, the winner of the NCAA West Regional, will look to lead the Cougar women at the national championship stage. Zenah Cheptoo, Nicole Bissell, and Caroline Jepkorir will have momentum heading into the national championship after impressive performances at the West Regional.

Solomon Kipchoge and Evans Kurui, the top two finishers at the West Regional, have experience at this stage, both competing in the national championship last year. They, along with Josphat Meli, Kutoven Stevens, and Vincent Koech, will look to put on a show at the national championships.

🔼 Sweepin’ Seattle. The WSU volleyball team delivered a wire-to-wire sweep on Saturday afternoon, overpowering Seattle U (25-21, 25-19, 25-15).

The Cougars' attack was relentless early and often, powered by standout performances from Taryn Vrieling and Lucie Blažková, who combined for 21 kills on the afternoon.

Vrieling was nearly unstoppable, finishing with 12 kills on .688 hitting, three aces, and five digs in one of her most efficient outings of the year. Blažková was equally impressive, producing nine kills on .750 hitting with no errors, four blocks, and an ace for 12.5 points as she took command at the net.

Camryn Lingenbrink added three blocks and four kills, while Mary Healy chipped in four timely kills that helped WSU keep momentum throughout the match.
