🔼 Home Cookin’. Playing at home for the first time in over a month, the WSU football squad thrilled the home crowd with a 28-7 nonconference win over visiting Toledo on Saturday afternoon.
Redshirt senior QB Zevi Eckhaus accounted for three TDs to lead the offense, while the defensive unit stifled the Rockets all day long.
Eckhaus led the Cougars with 159 passing yards and two touchdowns while adding 74 yards and a score on the ground. Carter Pabst had two catches for 49 yards and a touchdown, and Tony Freeman added a 15-yard scoring grab. Senior receiver Joshua Meredith paced the receiving corps with four receptions for 81 yards, including a 40-yard catch that set up a Cougar score.
The Cougar defense controlled the game throughout, holding Toledo to 61 rushing yards on 24 attempts while holding the Rockets to 299 yards of total offense, 157 yards below their season average. Senior linebacker Parker McKenna intercepted a pass and recorded 10 tackles, while safety Tucker Large led all players with a career-best 13 tackles.

🔼 There Goes That Man. Three games into his NBA career and our guy Cedric Coward is already turning heads.
Coward dropped 27 points, including 6 3-pointers in Memphis’ home victory over reigning Eastern Conference Champion, Indiana, on Saturday night.
Through three games, Coward is averaging 19.0 ppg, 3.7 rpg and 2.7 apg for Memphis.

🔼 Sneak Peek. With six new faces making their Cougar debut, it was two newcomers off the bench that helped the Washington State men's basketball to a 74-66 win over New Mexico in exhibition action on Saturday night.
Senior transfer Emmanuel Ugbo led the team in scoring with 16 points off the bench. The senior also grabbed seven rebounds, one assist, two steals, and one block. Senior transfer Simon Hildebrandt added 10 points off the bench with a pair of threes.
Sophomore returner Tómas Thrastarson, led all starters with 13 points. Junior returner ND Okafor added nine points, while grabbing a game-high 14 rebounds, and swatting two blocks.

🔼 Coming Soon. The WSU faithful got their first taste of what’s coming soon for the Cougar women’s hoops program.
WSU had eight different scorers, including six in double-figures, in Sunday's 92-41 exhibition win over Eastern Oregon.
Alex Covill led all scorers with 19 points to go with a game-high five blocks. Tanja Valancic and Mackenzie Chatfield shared the team lead with nine rebounds apiece. Valancic added four assists and five points while Chatfield had 12 points, six assists and four steals.
Eleonora Villa tallied 17 points and three steals. Malia Ruud scored 12 points and had three rebounds, two assists and a steal. Keandra Koorits had 11 points, and three assists, and Charlotte Abraham rounded out the double-figure scorers with 10 points, four rebounds and two assists.
