🔼 The Lion Tamers. The WSU women's soccer team defeated Loyola Marymount, 2-0, Saturday night in Pullman. The Cougars earned their first shutout of conference play with freshman Journey Middleborn and senior Jordyn Young finding the back of the net in the victory.

WSU controlled the match from the opening whistle, delivering 32 total shots in the match with 10 shots on target. The Cougars broke through in the 29th minute when Middleborn headed home the eventual game-winning goal off a corner kick. Freshman Ava Ghoreishi earned her first career assist, laying the short corner kick back to sophomore Audrey Shackleford for the delivery into the box. Middleborn earned her second-career goal, as the Cougars took a 1-0 lead into halftime, and picked up their third win with a halftime advantage.

The Cougars dominated the stats sheet and maintained nearly 55 percent of possession, adding 18 second-half shots to 14 first-half shots.

🔼 Gave ‘Em Hell. Traveling across the country is hard enough.

Taking on the fourth-ranked team in the country adds another level to that challenge.

WSU did exactly that and gave #4 Ole Miss all they could handle, but the Rebels pulled out a 24-21 over the Cougars

The Cougars led for a majority of the first three quarters. WSU scored late on a 19-yard touchdown pass from Zevi Eckhaus to Tony Freeman, bringing them a field goal away from tying the game. They had a final possession with just over a minute remaining, but were unable to score.

🔼 Opening Act. The WSU swimming team opened its 2025-26 campaign with a strong showing at the Fresno State Invitational this past weekend.

The Cougs finished third overall thanks to seven victories over the course of two days.
