🔼 Runnin’ Wild. And the resumes just keep growing.

WSU cross country standouts Rosemary Longisa and Solomon Kipchoge were named the National Athletes Of The Week by the USTFCCCA and Women's and Men's WCC Runners of the Week.

Longisa captured the Women's Gold 6k title to help WSU to a ninth-place finish at the 2025 Gans Creek Classic Friday in Columbia, Mo., a meet that featured eight teams ranked in the Top 30 nationally.

Kipchoge captured his first victory as a Cougar after transferring from Texas Tech following the 2024 season. The sophomore blazed his way to victory in a course record and personal-best time of 22-minutes, 24.7 seconds, winning by eight seconds over Iowa State's Joash Ruto to take the Men's Gold 8k race. His time was the second-fastest in the NCAA this season.

🔼 Inside The Huddle. We are just over a month away from the return of Cougar hoops and this week, we got a sneak peek of the work being done as WSU took us inside hoops practice with assistant coach George Galanopoulos.

🔼 My Paws, My Cause. WSU Athletics and Butch T. Cougar have launched My Paws My Cause, becoming the first collegiate mascot in the country to partner with the My Hand My Cause program.

My Paws My Cause is a museum quality photograph of the hands of Butch T. Cougar that will be a print along with his signature. The Butch T. Cougar prints will be limited edition, up to 250 will be available.

🎙️ THE INSIDE SCOOP

The second installment of the Inside WSU Athletics Podcast has been released across all WSU social channels.

This week's guest includes Head Soccer Coach Todd Shulenberger discussing how he became a collegiate head coach, while WSU Deputy Director of Athletics Ike Ukaegbu talks about the importance of a strong Name, Image and Likeness program is for Washington State.

🤔 COUGAR TRIVIA

Former Coug Kyle Manzardo is making his second straight appearance in the MLB postseason as the Guardians and Tigers are squaring off in the AL Wild Card Round.

Prior to Manzardo reaching the playoffs, who was the last WSU alum to appear in an MLB postseason game?

Got a guess?
