🔼 Workin’ Overtime. Sometimes you have to dig deep and find another gear to finish a road trip.
That’s exactly what the WSU women’s hoops squad did on Thursday night, fighting through a overtime road win over Saint Mary’s, 68-64.
As a team, the Cougs shot 42.3-percent from the field and dominated the boards, outrebounding the Gaels, 51-30, in the contest.
Leading the way was Eleonora Villa, who finished with 16 points, dished out six assists and grabbed three rebounds. Keandra Koorits had a huge night for the Cougs, pouring in 15 points, including 6-of-8 from the field and 3-of-3 from long range. She also added six assists on the night.
Alex Covill and Tanja Valancic dominated the paint, combining for 18 points, 15 rebounds and five blocked shots.
🔼 Movin’ On Up. Our guy continues to climb the charts!
Former Coug Klay Thompson used his best scoring night of the season to move up the NBA record books.
Thompson poured in 26 points, including six 3-pointers, to help the Mavs to a win over Jazz. With a his second 3-pointer of the game, he moved into fourth-place all-time in NBA history for most career 3-pointers.
He currently sits at 2,809 in his 13 seasons.
🔼 Sneak Peek. With under 30 days left before the season opener and perfect weather on tap, this weekend is a perfect chance for Cougs fans to get a sneak peek of the baseball boys.
The season opener is set for Friday, Feb. 13 when the Cougars open up a three-game weekend series in Tuscaloosa with Alabama.

Junior guard Eleonora Villa continued to be show her toughness in WSU’s overtime win, playing 43 of 45 possible minutes for the Cougs. She also joined an exclusive club becoming only the 14th player in program history to reach 3,000 career minutes.
